Martin Sheen to Lead MAN OF LA MANCHA Benefit in Malibu Next Month

Broadway vet Martin Sheen will take the stage as ‘Don Quixote’ in a one-night-only benefit production of the musical MAN OF LA MANCHA on November 27, 2015 at 7 p.m. at Pepperdine’s Center for Faith and Learning.

Sheen made his Broadway debut in NEVER LIVE OVER A PRETZEL FACTORY and went on to appear in THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES, which earned him a Tony nomination in 1965, as well as DEATH OF A SALESMAN, THE CRUCIBLE and LOVE LETTERS. Among his other stage credits are off-Broadway’s JULIUS CAESAR, HELLO AND GOODBYE, ROMEO AND JULIET, HAMLET and THE WICKED COOKS.

As far as we can tell, this will be Sheen’s first musical!

The actor is well known for his portrayal of ‘President Josiah Bartlet’ in Aaron Sorkin’s long-running TV drama THE WEST WING. He has starred in the films BADLANDS, APOCALYPSE NOW, GETTSYBURG, THE DEPARTED, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and more, and can currently be seen in the new TV series GRACE AND FRANKIE.
